How’s the Performance? The latest upgrade only adds a small amount of power to both engines, so we expect the 2025 G80’s performance to be unchanged. In our testing, we previously accelerated the turbo-four to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. The twin-turbo V-6 variant reduces that record to 5.3 seconds. Even at highway cruising speeds on Michigan’s rutted highways, the car delivers a surprisingly peaceful ride. Buyers looking for additional thrills can choose the Porsche Cayenne or Audi SQ8.
How’s the Real World MPG? We can’t yet conclude the revised GV80’s powertrain. Previously, the EPA estimated the GV80 four-cylinder auto returned 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the interstate; selecting the V-6 drops them to 18 mpg and 23 mpg, respectively. We haven’t run the revised GV80 through a 75 mph highway fuel economy test, but the previous GV80 with the turbo four outperformed it slightly, returning 25 mpg on the highway.
